Today we take comfort
in the words of Paul who said: “…I have been crucified with Christ,
nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me, and the
life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son
of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
Pastor Errol Tinker,
Executive Secretary of the North Bahamas Mission and Acting
President, Pastor Leonard
Johnson, President of The Bahamas Conference, other administrators, pastors, and members of the
Adventist churches in The Bahamas, extend deepest condolences to
Ann, his wife, his sons, Anson, Alden, Brendon, and parents. Also
extending sympathies to the family is Pastor Patrick Allen,
President of West Indies Union of Seventh-day Adventists, of which
the Bahamas Conference and The North Bahamas Mission are members. He
is joined by all the leaders of the fields of West Indies Union
(Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, Cayman Island) and The Inter American
Division.
Pastor Albury, a great leader and minister of the gospel, was
certainly a man of God who loved to share the gospel of Christ to
others. He is also widely remembered for the sermon he delivered at
the memorial service of our former Prime Minister and Adventist
member, Sir Lynden Oscar Pindling. His spirit, drive, and stamina
made him an outstanding administrator and visionary leader.
Undoubtedly he was one of the great Bahamian spiritual leaders of
our time.
The
family wishes to thank the church membership-at-large for their
continued prayers during our most trying time. We are left to
cherish the timeless words of our husband, father, son, and
brother: “While longevity on earth is a worthy goal, eternity with
God is more precious."
(He said this words of January 9, 2006)
