Grand Bahama Academy is the Social Science Champions in the Northern Bahamas
Grand Bahama Academy, a K-3 to Grade12 Seventh-day Adventist
institution in the northern Bahamas, was victorious at the 2009 District Primary
School Social Studies championships held on March 27. Some 18 primary schools
and approximately 100 young persons vied for the coveted title, answering more
than 300 questions in six categories: history, tourism, government, civics and
current affairs, geography, resources and people around the world.
The Social Science event was under the theme "Achieving your
dreams through education". Commenting on all the participants in the event,
Primary Social Studies Officer in the Ministry of Education, Lornice Hart, said
"you are representatives of the brightest and the best from the various schools
and I hope that you do your very best."
We congratulate the students from Grand Bahama Academy for
doing their very best and emerging as the overall winners.
