Adventist Run School in Abaco Distributes Food Items to the Needy in Neighboring Communities

Long Bay School, a K-12 Adventist run school that is owned by Elder Isaac and Sis. Jacqueline V. Collie, dubbed the last two weeks a time of Thanksgiving. It started with their annual Thanksgiving service held at the school on November 26, 2009. One hundred and three bags of groceries that were donated by the students and staff were distributed to the needy in the neighboring communities. A week later the school held its annual Christmas program and the teachers and students were encouraged to bring their financial gifts to the Lord. At the end of the program the funds collected were given to a needy member of the Marsh Harbour Seventh-day Adventist Church. At both services the students were encouraged by both Pastor Anthony Campbell and Pastor Sturrup to make giving a part of their lives. They were admonished to not concentrate all their efforts on their own needs, but to think of others too.
