Elders and Deacons Ordination
On
Sabbath February 7, 2009 Pastor E. Bryan Tinker, President of the Adventist
Church in the Northern Bahamas, conducted an Ordination Service for Elders and
Deacons at the Marsh Harbour Seventh-day Adventist Church in Abaco, Bahamas.
There were four (4) Elders and five (5) Deacons) that were ordained. In his
sermon Pastor Tinker talked about how the standards for spiritual leaders are
very high. Those with great responsibility must meet high expectations. The
moral character of elders and deacons must be without blemish. He admonished
that each elder and deacon must have a good reputation both inside and outside
of the church. In essence, he said that spiritual leadership begins at home. A
man must show that he is able to care for, discipline and teach his children in
order to qualify to lead the church.
These
