From The Desk Of The President
My
beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, warmest Christian greetings, and a
joyful and blessed Sabbath to all. Truly, we can assert with the great
songwriter, John Newton, “Safely through another week, God has brought us on our
way.” And today we come together with praiseful hearts, and with a spirit of
thanksgiving, for He is worthy to be praised “from the rising of the sun even to
the going down of the same.”
Obviously,
time is quickly passing. We are now in the final month of the first quarter of
2007. Of course, this is evangelism month, and it is encouraging to know that
all of our pastors, together with their evangelistic teams and their entire
districts, are collectively planning and working toward the launching of their
crusades sometime during the month of March. We praise the Lord for this spirit
of commitment, and pray that He will prosper our efforts and cause us to realize
an abundant harvest by His Spirit.
On Sabbath, March 24 ,
(three weeks from today), the Inter-American Division of Seventh-day Adventists
will celebrate and give thanks to God for a very important milestone in its
history, as it reaches its three million membership.
Dubbed “Pentecost and More,” this historic event
will be up-linked by satellite from the Dominican Republic, and will be
down-linked at various sites across the Division’s territory. The program may
also be viewed on Hope Channel and 3ABN.
The General Conference President, Dr. Jan
Paulsen, will preach for the Divine Service, and then pronounce the sentence for
baptism. At the pronouncement of each baptismal sentence, pastors across the
Inter-American Division will baptize the candidates. The person considered to be
the three millionth member will be baptized at the nucleus center (Dominican
Republic) by the President of the Inter-American Division, Pastor Israel Leito.
As an important component of the Inter-American
Division, the North Bahamas Mission must surely not come behind in this regard.
Thus, we’re praying for, and plan, by God’s grace, to play an important part in
“Pentecost and More.”
Furthermore, as we continue to focus on our
strategic plan, as it relates to the overall advancement of the work in the
North Bahamas Mission, we see the need, from time to time, to make adjustments,
and also to re-arrange our resources, as we seek, through the empowering of the
Holy Spirit, to maximize our efforts. In this regard, the Executive Committee of
the North Bahamas Mission, on February 18, 2007, voted unanimously to effect the
following districts adjustments:
1.
Salem/South Abaco—Pastor L. Rahming
2.
Marsh Harbour/North Abaco—Pastor R. V. Bain
3.
Shiloh/Eight Mile Rock—Pastor H. R. Moncur
4.
Freeport/West End---Pastor M. A. Smith
5.
Sunrise/Bethesda—Pastor E. Bryan Tinker
We praise God for the way in which He has led
his church in North Bahamas Mission through the years, and we solicit your
heartfelt prayers and wholehearted support, as together we move to turn this
Mission right-side-up for the Lord Jesus Christ. “Being confident of this very
thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until
the day of Jesus Christ”(Phil. 1: 6).
May God’s richest blessings embrace you during
these hallowed hours.
HAVE A BLESSED SABBATH!!!
…..Pastor E. Bryan Tinker, President

Women’s
Ministries
On Sunday, February 25, 2007 the ladies of the
Eight Mile Rock Church, with the dynamic leadership of Sis. C.
Lacquer and her team assembled at their church, with several visitors from the
community, to worship and praise God. The Prayer Breakfast was truly inspiring,
uplifting and spirit-filled. The Holy Spirit was felt in an extremely powerful
way as they executed their theme “Women of Faith” through dramatization of women
in the bible, prayer sessions, testimonies, singing and the spoken word. A
special thank you is extended to Dr. Althea McMillan who spoke on “The Mother-hubbard
Syndrome”, and oh what a message of faith that was. Special thanks is also
extended to our Women’s Ministries Director, Elder Aileen Sands who tied
everything together in her powerful presentation of “Women of Faith”. Truly the
presence of the Lord was felt in the house.
The theme for the Freeport Church Women’s
Ministries Department for 2007 is “Women’s Ministries 2007…Shaping Vessels
for Heaven”. On Tuesday, February 27, 2007 Sis. Carleta Carolina and her
team of able assistants conducted a Spiritual Party in their Fellowship Hall.
Following the devotional thought and their get acquainted session the ladies
were invited to write something they want God to help them get rid of and
deposit it in a miniature trash tin and something they want God to bless them
with in 2007 was placed in a decorative box. Each lady was given a small cake
with a candle on it which they lighted and Elder Aileen Sands presented the
petitions to God on behalf of everyone. The sealed request would be opened by
the ladies at the last meeting in this year and everyone will be given an
opportunity to testify of their breakthrough.
The ladies of the Sunrise Seventh-day
Adventist Church will be conducting a Prayer Breakfast, at the
church, Sunday, March 4, 2007, beginning at 8:00 a.m. Sisters from the other
