The Marriage Seminar of 2007

“Hope Focused Marriage Encounter” Seminar

Register now for the “Hope Focused Marriage Encounter” Seminar. There’s only one week to go before the Marriage Seminar of 2007 begins. “The Hope Focused Marriage Encounter”, April 27 – 29, 2007, will provide marriages and families here in Grand Bahama with the opportunity of being strengthened. This event will take place at the Our Lucaya Convention Centre and it promises to be edifying and enriching to your marriage and relationship. Come spend the weekend (whether sleeping over or just coming for the sessions) in comfortable, relaxed, pleasant, enticing, enchanting surroundings. The atmosphere will truly exude Eden restored. The dress for the weekend is semi- casual attire.

Married couples, or if you are “engaged”, or even if your spouse is not there you, can still sign up and benefit. You are never too old to enrich your marriage. This event will benefit you if you have a traditional marriage or divorced, engaged, dating or if you are in a blended family. This seminar will be relevant for all. The principles will help you now and in the future because they will address a diversity of issues. Consider some of the topics: Communication in a marriage, Core Values and Beliefs in the Marriage, Vision of the Marriage, Parenting Skills, Conflict Resolution, Complicating Factors in a Marriage, Blended Families, Are You the One for Me, Charting Compatibility, Closeness and Intimacy.

The Seminar rates are varied depending on your preference:

·         Seminar and materials = $50 per couple

·         Seminar, materials and Sabbath lunch = $120 per couple

·         Seminar, materials, Sabbath lunch = $120 per couple plus *accommodations of $99 per night + taxes & fees (*accommodations would have to be made separately by each person with the hotel)

If you need child care arrangements (infants and toddlers) we can facilitate you.

As an added feature our Youth will be benefited with a special presentation for them at 6 p.m. Sabbath afternoon at the Our Lucaya Convention Seminar. So, we are inviting our young people who are interested to join us during the AY hour.

Join us as an internationally dynamic, experienced couple, Drs. Norman and Heather Knight, (see picture below) lead out in this Marriage Seminar.

The Knights are a Christian American couple who have deep West Indian roots. Dr. Norman Wright who has an emphasis in Christian Marriage Counseling within his doctorate, has been counseling for many years, and presently also teaches classes at Andrews University Theological Seminar as well as functions as a pastor of two church congregations in Michigan. Dr. Heather Wright is the first African-American female "Provost" at Andrews University as well as a Family Life facilitator. Together they have traveled extensively presenting the “Hope Focused Marriage Encounter” seminar. They have done these seminars throughout the USA, England and other parts of the world. Their presentations will prove very helpful for marriages and relationships here in Grand Bahama.

Thought for the Week

Determination

Those in the service of God must show animation and determination in the work of winning souls.  Remember that there are those who will perish unless we as God’s instrumentalities work with a determination that will not fail nor become discouraged. – Tes., vol. 6, p.418

He has given us a great work to do.  Let us do it with accuracy and determination.  Let us show in our lives what the truth has done for us. – Tes. Vol. 6, p. 418

Happy Sabbath!
