About North Bahamas Territory and
Mission
- History:
- The North Bahamas Mission of
Seventh-day Adventists is part of the Worldwide Church of
Seventh-day Adventists. The Mission was organized in January
2003 when the Bahamas Conference was divided in two
administrative fields for growth and expansion of the church
and its work in the Bahamas. The Mission was officially
inaugurated on June 27, 2003, when the first Mission session
was held. Prior to its establishment, the North
Bahamas Mission was aligned as the Northern Region of the
Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Dr. Keith D.
Albury served as the inaugural President of this dynamic new
Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church until the time
of his untimely death in January 2006. Pastor E. Bryan
Tinker currently serves as the President.

- Territory:
- The North Bahamas Mission of
Seventh-day Adventists consist of islands in the Northern
Bahamas: Grand Bahama, The Abaco islands, the Berry
Islands, and the Bimini Islands. The headquarters for the
Mission is located on the industrial Grand Bahama Island
(population of 55,000, 580 sq miles) with Freeport as the
main industrial city. The total population for these
islands is about 80,000. There are ten Adventist Churches
with membership of over 1,800. See

In addition, the Mission also has one educational
institution: Grand Bahama Academy, which serves the church
and community at large.

To glorify God, and under the direction of the Holy
Spirit, lead everyone into a personal and experiential
relationship with Jesus, and through spiritual nurture,
enable them to become disciples in sharing the everlasting
Gospel.
