About North Bahamas Territory and Mission
History:
The North Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists is part of the Worldwide Church of Seventh-day Adventists. It was organized as a in January 2003 when the Bahamas Conference was divided in two administrative fields for growth and expansion of the church and its work in the Bahamas. The Mission was officially inaugurated on June 27, 2003, when the first Mission session was held.  Prior to its establishment, the North Bahamas Mission was aligned as the Northern Region of the Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Dr. Keith D. Albury served as the inaugural President, Pastor E. Bryan Tinker as Executive Secretary and Elder Roderick Sands as Treasurer of this dynamic new Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Then with untimely death of Pastor Albury in January 2006, Pastor E. Bryan Tinker was appointed president by West Indies Union Conference and Pastor Michael A. Smith, Executive Secretary. The Mission experienced a change in status in September 2008 at the year-end meeting of the Inter-American Division Executive Committee when final approval was voted and granted for the North Bahamas Mission to be a Conference. On Sunday, May 24, 2009 the North Bahamas Conference held its First Quadrennial (Inaugural) Session and Pastor E. Bryan Tinker was elected as President, Pastor Michael A. Smith as Secretary and Elder Roderick Sands as Treasurer. See various Ministries
